Kinloch sits on Scotland’s far northern coast, in the wild land of Sutherland. Think north, then go north a bit, and then keep going. Here you’ll find pristine peatland than seems to stretch out forever, dramatic mountains like Ben Hope and Ben Loyal, and bright white beaches where the rock face crashes into azure waters. “Come and get me,” the landscape cries out.

Kinloch sits at the foot of the famous twin peaks of Ben Loyal. To the west, the undulating summit of Ben Hope frames the landscape between these two mighty mountains. Between the two are miles of perfect, isolated wilderness.

Our guests have unique access to beautiful lochs, wild rivers, ancient forests and endless expanses to explore and play. Our team will be happy to help you plan your adventures before you arrive, be it the direction of a good cycling track, or a week of fishing on the world famous Hope system. Seasoned local guides are available to you for guided hikes, and a collection of mountain bikes are free to use during your stay.

Nip to the riverside sauna yurt for a sweat and a cold dip, head to our hidden mountain bothy for a long lunch in the wild, or enjoy a yoga retreat where the world can’t find you. The Kinloch sauna yurt sits among the trees by the Kinloch River, where you can take a refreshing cold dip after a relaxing sweat.

Kinloch Estate is part of WildLand, a collection of 220,000 acres of precious Scottish wild places in the Highlands. Everything we do, from land management to the activities enjoyed by guests, is done with conservation in mind. To date, WildLand has planted over five million trees, enabled the regeneration of ancient forests, and restored large tracts of peatland as part of our mission to unlock the potential of this landscape full of hope.
